The 100 Day Project – Update

It’s been 3 weeks since I started my daily haiku writing and I am amazed that I am still at it. They say it takes 21 days for something to turn into a habit, so I thought today would be a good day to give you all an update. There were days where I simply could not think of anything to write even though there are only 3 lines to a haiku. I tried to write something ‘meaningful’ everyday, but some days are just mundane and you’ll end up writing something down right sucky.

For example:
#haiku010
You are my sunshine
Though corny as it may be
Beaming me with love

I thought I’d be able to draw inspirations from all the articles and books from my daily read but is harder than I thought. I reread some sections of “Steal Like An Artist”, just to learn how to ‘steal’. But again, is harder than I thought.  Too many concepts and ideas to be packed into 3 concise lines and still be able to get the message across. This takes practice – a skill that I wish to hone in the days to come.

Anyhoo … a few to show that I actually do this everyday. I usually write it on scrap paper or type it out on my phone when the haiku bug hits me. At the end of the day, I write my daily creation down in a notebook, just for this project, with colourful Sharpies and some squibbles and doodles – my attempt to be artsy.

Write to understand,
Your inner thoughts and feelings.
Don’t deny yourself.

#Haiku020 #dreams #interpretation #onlove
You were in my dreams
Wearing nothing but moonlight
Fading in darkness

#haiku022 #life #isyourturn #fear #sethgodin
Long for stable life
Yet fear to be forgotten
Do you take the leap?
